What software is everyone using to scan the C6's in order to tune and diagnose street manners? I've been using EASE on the C5. Do they have software available for the C6?

Yes the newest V5.1 Ease is out and I use it even on 2007 Z06.
IF you have the BCT-INT Ease interface you could via Team ZR-1 upgrade the software. If its a older interface then you would have to get complete new scanner since the C6 uses the new "CAN" protocol and link speed which older scanner interfaces did not have.

If wanting all top functions that uses GMLAN which is even faster would require the wireless interface since GM only does GMLAN on it.

V5 has of course new features and functions older scanners did not have.

I have an Ease software package (GM OBD2 Enhanced Powertrain Data Scan Tool Package) bought back in 2001. What would I need to purchase in order to scan the C6's as well as still work with C5's? Any idea how much of an investment this would be?

A scanner bought back in 2001 would not support the new EPA "CAN" OBD-II or "GMLAN" protocols used by GM to all the modules in the car and wire speeds used in 2005 and newer cars.

You'd have to buy the V5.1 since your old version's software and the hardware interface are outdated for what is required to support these new EPA and GM features.

Being CAN runs at a faster data rate best would be if you purchased the Ease scanner from us is to get the USB interface since CAN operates at 500 K baud which is much faster then the old EPA and GM VPW RS232 data rates.
Cost of the hardware/cables is $270 and then you choose the software options you want but most purchase from us the middle level software which is $149.

If really wanting top speed to do GMLAN functions then we also have a IEEE 20.11g wireless Ease interface which then handles 2 Mbp/s data throughput and a desktop or laptop can either do Ad-Hoc peer to peer wireless to the Ease interface or can even be set up where interface connects to a wireless LAN router and then even desktops without wireless can run the Ease scanner software and link to interface in the car via the wireless LAN router.
Cost of a wireless Ease interface is around $400 but being it supports full GMLAN you get our WARP speeds for scan and record and much more bi-directional control to other modules in the car.
Bi-directional allows multi commands to be made rather then in older versions one at a time.

What is cool is like at a racetrack the laptop running Ease scanner does not have to be in the car but rather where your pit is or anywhere within the distance the wireless will work to maintain connected to Ease interface in car.

As an update as of 2009 the present Ease versions are :

V7 for the Personal version
V8 for the Professional Version

Both support hardware interfaces of :

1. RS232 - ( OBD-I and II) cannot be used for 2005 and newer cars/trucks as OBD-III requires CAN and/or GMLAN which requires more bandwidth then RS232 supports

2, USB - ( OBD-1, II and III) will also do CAN and low speed GMLAN

3. Wireless - (OBD-I, II, III and full GMLAN ) IEEE 802.11G LAN wireless, can be used Peer to Peer or Ad-Hoc, meaning allows a laptop to connect directly to Ease Wireless interface or any P/C on a LAN going through a wireless/LAN router.

This can be purchased through us via our frontstore or contact us.
Software levels :

1. Level 1 - connects to E/PCM and transmissions
2. Level 1/2 - also connects to other modules in the car/truck
3. Level 1/2/3 - also connects to the airbag.

Supports all makes in Generic Mode or American or Asian makes for Enhanced modes.
