I posted a while back I bought a pcm from a guy and he said he flashed a tune in it for the mods I have, well it does seem to run ok but I ran a short log the other day and noticed that it doesn't go to open loop at WOT. why would this be?

Without seeing the tune I'd have to say if there is nothing wrong with any engine sensors then the tuner set the PCM table for when engine goes into closed loop with high temp values.

Common of cheaper tune when they do not want to fully tune is they set closed loop temp high thus sensors are ignored.
They could have forced the PCM into the old speed density mode so MAF is ignored thus so are the front O2 sensors.

If a sensor fails on startup then PCM would revert to SD mode.

Thanks JR. How much would it cost me for you to just look at it? I don't really have the money right now to get one of your tunes because of an unexpected doctor bills but if you could look at it and tell me if it's crap then I guess I need to start saving to have you do a tune. I don't really want to drive it much if it's not tuned right.

I compared the tuned flash with a stock 98 and here is what changes the tuner did.
To what I see this was a partial tune and really should be dialed in for the makeup of that car and how you tend to drive it.
