IV TOURING DIVISION:
Technical Speed: 124 mph
The following are the minimum requirements for the Touring Division.
1. The Touring Division shall have a top speed of 124 mph.
B. The Touring Division will be led by a pace vehicle that will not exceed 124 mph.
2. A 2.5 lb. Minimum, automotive BC fire extinguisher, with a secure quick-release mounting bracket made of metal. The extinguisher, must be within easy reach of the Driver.
3. Correctly installed factory seat belts, OEM or better, is the minimum standard.
B. Belts of not more than five years of age are recommended.
C. The use of a proper racing safety harness system is highly recommended.
4. DOT approved "U" rated tires (or better) will be considered the minimum requirement. DOT approved "H", "V" or "Z" rated tires are recommended.
5. A SNELL Foundation M85 (or later) helmet in good condition is the Minimum Standard, shatter proof eye protection is recommended (shatter proof eyeglasses will be considered the minimum standard).
6. Non-synthetic clothing (cotton, wool, leather, etc.) covering torso, arms and legs, plus gloves and leather topped shoes (both without holes) is the minimum standard. Golf gloves and athletic shoes with holes are not acceptable.
An SFI approved Suit and underwear with a 32 A/1 rating for Driver/Navigator is recommended.
7. A radio scanner is recommended.
V. GRAND TOURING DIVISION:
Technical Speed: 140 mph
The following are the minimum requirements for the Grand Touring Division.
1. A 2.5 lb. Minimum, automotive BC fire extinguisher, with a secure quick-release mounting bracket made of metal. The extinguisher must be within easy reach of the Driver.
2. A five or six point safety harness system that includes three inch (3")shoulder and lap belts. See Restraint System, Section XI, Page. 16.
B. Sternum belts are recommended for seats which do not support the shoulder straps. However large metal buckles on the sternum strap are not recommended.
C. The use of a "cam-lock" seat belt locking system is recommended.
3. A competition approved Roll Bar for open vehicles is required. See Roll Bar Specs, Section IX, pg 13.
4. DOT approved "V" rated tires (or better) will be considered the minimum requirement.
DOT approved "Z" rated tires are recommended. See Tire Specs, Section XII, pg 17.
5. A SNELL Foundation SA90 (or later) helmet is the minimum standard, shatter proof eye protection is recommended, (Shatter proof eyeglasses will be considered the minimum standard).
B. A Nomex head sock is recommended
C. A padded helmet support is recommended.

Technical Speed: 165 mph
The following are the minimum requirements for the Grand Sport Division.
1. A 2.5 lb. Minimum, automotive BC fire extinguisher, with a secure quick-release mounting bracket made of metal. The extinguisher must be within easy reach of the Driver.
A competition approved fire system and fuel cell is recommended.
2. A five or six point safety harness system that included three inch (3") shoulder and lap belts. See Restraint System, Section XI, Page 16.
B. Sternum belts are recommended for seats which do not support the shoulder straps. However, large metal buckles on the sternum strap are not recommended.
C. The use of "cam-lock" seat belt locking system is highly recommended.

4. DOT approved "Z" or "W" rated tires are required. See Tire Specs, Section XII, pg. 17.
5. A SNELL Foundation SA90 (or later) helmet and shatter proof eye protection.

6. An SFI approved Driver/Navigator suit, socks and gloves (leather palms are O.K.) with a 32 A/1 rating are considered the minimum standard.
B. A one piece suit with an SFI rating of 32 A/3 is recommended.
7. A radio scanner is recommended.
VII. SUPER SPORTS DIVISION:
Technical Speed: 180 mph
The following are the minimum requirements for the Super Sport Division.
1. A competition approved fire system and fuel cell.
2. A five or six point safety harness system that includes three inch (3") shoulder and lap belts..See Restraint System, Section XI, pg 16.
B. Sternum belts are recommended for seats which do not support the shoulder straps. However, large metal buckles on the sternum strap are not recommended.
C. Arm Restraints are highly recommended.
D. The use of a "cam-lock" seat belt locking system is highly recommended.
3. A competition approved Roll Cage. See Roll Cage Specs, Section X, pg 15.

5. DOT approved "Z" or "Y" rated tires or approved racing tires are required. See Tire Specs, Section XII, pg 17.
6. A padded steering hub and collapsible steering column are required.
7. A SNELL Foundation approved SA90 (or later) helmet with shatter proof eye protection. An SA95 helmet will be required in 1998.
B. A padded helmet support is recommended.
8. An SFI Approved Driver/Navigator suit, shoes, socks, and gloves (leather palms are O.K.) with a 32 A/1 rating are considered the minimum standard. A head sock for Driver/Navigators with long hair (or facial hair) is required and recommended for everyone.
A one piece suit with an SFI rating of 32 A/3 is recommended.

VIII. UNLIMITED DIVISION:
Class: Unlimited, Technical Speed: 180+ mph
The following are the minimum requirements for the Unlimited Division.
2. A competition approved on-board fire system and fuel cell.
3. Engine Restraints, See Restraint System, Section XI, pg 16.
4. A five or six point safety harness system that includes three inch (3") shoulder and lap belts. See Restraint System, Section XI, pg 16.
B. Arm Restraints.
C. Sternum belts are recommended for seats which do not support the shoulder straps. However, large metal buckles on the sternum strap are not recommended.
D. The use of a "cam-lock" seat belt locking system is highly recommended.

11. Participants may enter vehicles with a performance threshold less than 180+mph. (In order to enter Unlimited with a speed of 165 mph or lower, the participant must have the approval of the Race Director).
B. The minimum speed for the Unlimited Class will be a sustained 150 mph.
C. The participants tech speed must meet or exceed the top speed of the vehicle.
